Weather In Siesta Key

Siesta Key, Florida, is relatively warm all year round. As you’d likely expect from a destination in Florida, the summertime is particularly hot, and the winters are quite mild. As far as precipitation, summer is considered the wet season, while the winter months don’t see as much rain (and never snow!).

Seasons

The spring in Siesta Key is quite a variable season. The temperatures in March and April rise slowly as the area comes out of winter, but May tends to heat up fast as summer approaches. High temperatures can range from the low 70s to the high 80s throughout the season. March and April also tend to be pretty dry, but as it gets closer to Memorial Day Weekend, rain chances can get up to around 40% daily.

For summer in Siesta Key, the temperatures hit their peak. June, July, and August see average high temperatures in the 80s and sometimes 90s. Luckily, it’s common to have afternoon showers that help cool things off for the evenings. Rain chances can get as high as 70% for days on end.

Siesta Key in the fall is still warm, but it’s much more bearable than the summer months. Throughout September, October, and November, high temperatures start in the mid-80s but get down to the lower 70s by the end of the season. Rain chances decrease significantly as well; by November, the average daily rain chance is around 15%.

Finally, Siesta Key in the winter is obviously cooler than the rest of the year but is still much more preferable than the snowy conditions in the rest of the U.S. Average high temperatures for December, January, and February tend to remain in the low 70s. There’s rarely precipitation during this season, so you can rest assured you’ll stay dry.

What to Pack

No matter what season you choose to visit Siesta Key, you’ll be safe packing the beach essentials like t-shirts, shorts, and flip flops. A light jacket may also be handy, as you can use it to protect yourself from a summer shower or to warm up in the cooler evenings of winter. You should also have a sturdy pair of shoes with you for walking around, and don’t forget all your electronics and their chargers!
