Dance to the Beat of the Siesta Key Drum Circle

When you’re researching the best things to do in Siesta Key, you’re sure to come across options like spending time at the beach, indulging on fresh local seafood, or seeing the gorgeous nature of the area. You might even consider taking a day trip over onto the mainland to cities like Sarasota or Bradenton. However, there’s one activity on the island that’s a bit underrated but tons of fun: the Siesta Key Drum Circle!

Don’t miss an evening at this incredible event during your stay in our Siesta Key rentals!

What is The Drum Circle

The Siesta Key Drum Circle is a weekly event that brings locals and visitors alike out to the shorelines. Numerous performers, dancers, and musicians make their way to the beach to bring lively music and exciting shows to the audience, bringing a unique energy you simply have to experience for yourself. No two instances of the Drum Circle are the same, so you’re in for a one-of-a-kind evening no matter how many times you visit! This is a completely free and family-friendly activity, so no matter who you are or what you’re interested in, we’d highly recommend that you check out this incredible experience.

What to Expect

When you first arrive on the beach, you’ll immediately hear the drums calling you. Let the sound and the crowd lead you to the Drum Circle, where you’ll see talented performers pouring their heart out into the show they’re putting on. The energy is truly contagious, and before long, you might find yourself tapping your foot or dancing along! The Drum Circle happens near sundown, so it’s a great way to spend your evening and watch the sun go down over the horizon. Feel free to bring your own blankets and beach chairs to make yourself at home!

Where is it Located?

The Siesta Key Drum Circle takes place on the public beach at 948 Beach Road. Head to the left of the concession stand to find the Circle. As we mentioned, once you arrive, the sound of the drums will beckon you to the exact spot on the shoreline where you should be! If you arrive at the beach and still can’t find the Circle, ask any of the locals you meet and they can help you out. The festivities take place every Sunday evening and start an hour before sunset. Best of all, everyone is welcome and it’s absolutely free!

How to Get There

Luckily, getting to the Drum Circle is an easy journey. Beach Road is one of the main streets along the island, so you should be able to get there from anywhere else on the island. From Horizon’s West, you’ll simply start from Midnight Pass Road and continue it as it turns into Beach Road. You’ll turn left just past the fire station.

After the performers have packed up for the evening, it’ll be time to head back to your Siesta Key vacation rentals to relax and reminisce on the incredible performance you just witnessed! Get some much-needed rest and gear up for another day of crossing activities off of your itinerary tomorrow.
